The Anand Niketan Model United Nations 4.0, held on the 14th and 15th of December 2024, was a grand success, thanks to the hard work and dedication of the organizing team, the school faculty, and the incredible contributions from delegates and Executive Boards. The event brought together students from various schools across Ahmedabad, offering them a unique platform to discuss and debate global issues in five distinct committees. ANMUN began with a grand opening ceremony, featuring two esteemed guest speakers: Kamal Mangal sir, who spoke about finding one's soul, and Marina Avakian ma’am, who emphasized diplomacy, global dialogue, and leadership in shaping future leaders. The ceremony set an inspiring tone for the two-day event, with delegates engaging in debates across UNODC, DISEC, SPECPOL, UNGA, and IP committees
This year’s edition was particularly special as it was held at the Sarkhej campus, marking the first MUN event hosted in the new school campus. It provided an ideal environment for collaboration and intellectual exchange.
The modern setting enhanced the overall experience, creating a vibrant atmosphere where delegates could focus on global affairs while enjoying the benefits of the newly built campus. The event's success was a testament to both, the school's growth and its commitment to nurturing future leaders. The event was expertly led by the Secretariat, including Sanchit Garg, Sahana Pathak, Anvesha Saraf, and Manan Mittal. Key roles included Aarush Agarwal in communication, Aarya Chavda managing logistics, Laveleen Jain handling social media, Vasvi Agarwal designing visuals, Aadya Saraf coordinating operations, and Hritvi overseeing hospitality.
In addition to the academic discussions, the "La Serata"- socials provided delegates with a chance to network, relax, and build lasting friendships.
The event offered a platform for students to enhance their diplomatic, public speaking, and problem-solving skills while gaining a deeper understanding of global issues and international relations.
The closing ceremony on December 15th recognized outstanding delegates with awards such as Best Delegate, Verbal Mention, and Best Junior Delegate. Prof. Surya Kakani, the Architect of this sustainable and harmonized new campus was the chief guest for the occasion. Prof. Kakani, who is known for exploring architectural resolutions within a resource conscious framework, shared insights on sustainable architecture and modern technology to stay connected to nature. The event concluded with a celebration of teamwork, leadership, and the inspiration to continue making a positive impact.
